Who Am I?
All I've ever wanted was to leave a mark on this world.
Nothing scares me more than being forgotten, and for as long as I can remember I have wanted to leave my mark through film.
I was 8 years old when I was first introduced to a video camera, it was large, badly made and only recorded in black and white. There was no battery, only a lead which ran off the mains, no zoom, no focus or iris, nothing other then a big red button.
As a child I never understood how it worked and I never needed to, all I knew was that after pressing the red button, this plastic box soaked up everything in front of it like a giant sponge. I starting shooting immediately, and from a very early age I came to grips with what it took to use a camera effectively.
When I grew older I found that learning with such restrictive equipment has always giving me an independence from it. I have never been someone who has to rely on brilliant equipment to create something brilliant, I rely on imagination, innovation, originality and persistence.
